Grand Valley

Welcome to Grand Valley – Nature’s Playground

Grand Valley is a scenic and close-knit community nestled along the Grand River in Dufferin County. With just under 4,000 residents, it offers the perfect blend of small-town charm, rich agricultural roots, and natural beauty — all within commuting distance to Orangeville, Brampton, and the Greater Toronto Area.

A Town with Deep Roots

Grand Valley was originally formed through the merging of the Village of Grand Valley and East Luther Township. With a history dating back to the 1850s, the town has a resilient spirit and deep pride in its heritage. Even after a devastating tornado in 1985, Grand Valley rebuilt with care and community at its core.

Surrounded by Nature

The Grand River flows through the heart of town, providing a stunning backdrop for daily life and endless opportunities for recreation. Nearby, Luther Marsh — a 10,000-acre wetland and wildlife reserve — offers exceptional birdwatching, canoeing, hiking, and fishing.

The region is also popular for horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and exploring the rolling farmland and woodlands that surround the community.

Historic Downtown & Local Character

Downtown Grand Valley is a charming stretch of historic buildings, boutique shops, local restaurants, and friendly gathering places. It reflects the town’s deep connection to its agricultural roots while supporting a growing business and creative community.

Farm markets, artisan vendors, and locally grown products are all part of the everyday lifestyle — making the town feel authentic, connected, and community-driven.

A True Sense of Community

Grand Valley is known for its welcoming, small-town feel. Local events like the annual Duck Race, fall fairs, and community concerts bring people together throughout the year. The Grand Valley & District Community Centre serves as a hub for sports, gatherings, and town events.

Families benefit from access to schools, parks, playgrounds, and recreational programs — all within a safe, walkable environment.

Growing with Care

Grand Valley is one of Dufferin County’s fastest-growing towns, with new residential developments attracting families and professionals looking for space, peace, and quality of life. Despite its growth, the town has managed to retain its charm, supported by thoughtful planning and infrastructure updates.

Local businesses are also growing, supported by the community and a small but active Business Improvement Area (BIA).
